Diana Taurasi will return to the U.S. national basketball team next week. Taurasi is on the 15-player list for next week’s training camp in Minnesota.
Taurasi is the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer, and she is currently a free agent. She is expected to be back with the Phoenix Mercury. She already has five Gold Medals and will be 42 years old in the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Last season Taurasi averaged 16.7 points per game while shooting 37% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc.
Other players expected at the training camp that will run from Feb. 7-9 include Ariel Atkins and Elena Delle Donne of Washington; Napheesa Collier of Minnesota; Allisha Gray of Dallas; Sabrina Ionescu and Betnijah Laney of New York; Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young of Las Vegas; Kahleah Copper of Chicago and free agent Angel McCoughtry. In addition, Natasha Howard, Marina Mabrey, Arike Ogunbowale of Dallas, and Phoenix’s Brianna Turner will be at the camp.
National team head coach Cheryl Reeve will run the camp with Curt Miller of the Los Angeles Sparks, Mike Thibault of the Washington Mystics, and James Wade of Chicago Sky will help out.
