The Arizona Diamondbacks won the first two games in Chicago against the White Sox. Which means the Diamondbacks set up a chance for a weekend sweep. Winning both games in convincing fashion. This might be the best two games I have seen from the D-Backs all season.

Friday night two rookies took center stage, with Daulton Varsho going 3 for 4 from the plate resulting in 2 runs and 1 RBI. Recently called up Tommy Henry pitched a solid 5 complete innings only giving up 1 run on 4 hits. Arizona wins easily 7-2.

With Merrill Kelly taking the bump Saturday night, fans knew they could be in for a treat. A treat he gave them pitching 7.1 innings striking out 7. He had a rough 1st inning giving up 3 runs before shutting down the White Sox offense for 6 innings straight. Jake McCarthy, who has been an up and coming fan favorite was the star in the box hitting 4 for 5 scoring 3 runs himself. D-Backs winning a a shootout 10-5.

Sunday, we might need a broom!

The Diamondbacks set up a chance for a weekend sweep on Sunday. They will be in for a challenge as Cy Young candidate is Dylan Cease pitching for Chicago. Zach Davies will go against him representing Arizona. Cease has a 12-6 record while is throwing a 2.27 ERA, while Davies has a record of 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA.

As up and down as this team has been this season, when they are clicking like this they are possible one of the best in the NL. Moving forward consistency and not trying to be a hero will serve these young talented players well. The first pitch tomorrow is schedule for 11:10 am Phoenix time.
