It’s been a breath of fresh air recently for Arizona as they have won their last four games including Friday night’s win over the San Diego Padres by a score of 5-1.

Saturday night mound matchups:

Zac Gallen will be on the mound for Arizona, and it seems the Snakes aren’t too sure what they’ll get. In a contract year, Gallen has a 4-8 record with a 5.15 ERA and hasn’t looked like his old self. Gallen needs to change it around at home, as his 1-5 record and 6.38 ERA at Chase Field has been something he needs to remedy.

The San Diego Padres will be starting Ryan Bergert on Saturday. In his last two starts, he has thrown at least five innings and has given up a combined two earned runs after both. He only allowed one hit in 5.1 innings against the Brewers, as Bergert has been rolling as of late, making the most of his opportunities.

If Arizona can keep their bats alive, they might just be on the right track to get back in this division. The trade deadline is coming up and these Snakes truly care about each other, and moving forward with each other. The last thing this ball club wants to do is be sellers at ther deadline. If they can keep their foot on the gas pedal, Arizona might be able to put themselves in the right position.
