Arizona couldn’t get anything going yesterday as they dropped the ending to Friday’s match-up and Saturday’s game as well. They lost an extra-inning game in the first matchup by a score of 4 to 3 and then were taken to the cleaners in the second matchup by a score of 13 to 1.

Pitching on Sunday morning:

Zac Gallen would love to replicate his last outing for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Not only was Gallen more than serviceable in his decent start, but it was a welcome sight as he has struggled nightly to start the 2025 season with a 4-7 record and 5.23 ERA. Though in his last appearance in Atlanta, Gallen pitched seven innings and only allowed three runs and only one earned run in five hits.

Cincinnati will be having Brady Singer on the mound on Sunday. This past Monday, Singer only pitched five innings in his start against the Milwaukee Brewers and allowed three earned runs on five hits. Singer is starting on Sunday with a 6-4 record and a 4.66 ERA.

Riding a hot streak:

Ketel Marte might be one of the hottest hitters on the planet right now. In his last seven games, Marte is hitting a .429 batting average with a .538 OPB and a 1.000 slugging percentage. His nine hits, seven runs, and four home runs have been helping pave the way for this Snakes team while they deal with a flurry of issues. Marte is leading by example and Arizona is lucky to have a captain as talented and headstrong as Marte is.

Arizona will need to see their longtime starter have another decent outing alongside making sure their bats are going on Sunday if they want to avoid getting swept against the Reds.
