Head coach Sam Messina took over the program in 2019 and had his most successful season with the team yet last season. After a few up-and-down seasons, Messina got the Pioneers to contention.
Departures
As with every high school team, Pinnacle lost several key players to graduation in May.
The team lost their top two hitters from this past season Carson Kuhn and Logan Yule. They each batted above .400 and had over 40 hits on the season.

While these losses will without a doubt hurt the team, they do have the talent to make up for it. This includes current junior Gabe Velasquez-Mendoza, who finished his sophomore season with 35 hits and 14 RBIs.
Had an amazing time and experience at the PG WWBA World Championship. Amazing competition and very fun all around. Went 2-6 with a single, double, 4 walks, and 2 RBIs. @PinnacleBall @TrexBBC @PG_Uncommitted pic.twitter.com/7bhoSoWyXt

Season Outlook
The Pioneers proved that they could compete with high-level teams last season and will look to continue to do so this upcoming season.
Keep a close eye on Pinnacle’s Varsity baseball team as they try to compete for a 6A championship title.
