Jacoby Brissett’s Third Start
While starting quarterback Kyler Murray continues to nurse a foot injury, Jacoby Brissett will make his third start against Dallas. Despite putting up decent numbers, the Cardinals haven’t been able to find success and have gone 0-2 with Brissett at the helm.
Still, Brissett has given Arizona opportunities to stay competitive.
In his two starts, Brissett has completed 64.2% of his passes for 599 yards and four touchdowns. This third start may be the final chance for the team to decide who will start once Murray returns to full health.

Kyler Murray’s role against the Cowboys
Murray was previously slated to start against the Cowboys, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. On Saturday, the team decided to start Brissett because Murray was still not healthy enough to play. Head coach Jonathan Gannon said Murray could still have a role in the game but did not specify in what capacity.
“He is getting better,” Gannon said on Saturday, according to ESPN. “He’s had some more work this last week, but like I said, he’s just not ready to go yet. But as far as, obviously, that position’s a little bit different because you got to have a plan ready. That’s why I’m just saying Jacoby’s starting, but if [Murray] can have a role, he can have a role, but you take it one day at a time.”
Originally from Texas, Murray attended Allen High School. His homecoming won’t be on the field, where he is 2-0 when playing against the Cowboys in Dallas.

Getting Back on Track
The Cardinals have been on a slide over the last five weeks, losing five straight after starting the season 2-0. With Brissett on the field, Murray’s involvement and the team coming out of a bye week, Arizona appears to be on a good path to snap the skid.
Arizona is currently in fourth place in the NFC West, and while it will be a tough task to climb to the top, the team can still salvage its season by building momentum in Texas with a win.
