GLENDALE – After Kyler Murray was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, the Arizona Cardinals decided to start Jacoby Brissett over Murray for their Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys per ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter. This isn’t a shot at Murray for how the season has gone, but more so precautionary, as they wouldn’t like to risk any further injury.

The Arizona Cardinals didn’t just change quarterbacks this week; they changed tone. By naming veteran Jacoby Brissett the starter over Kyler Murray, Cards Head Coach Jonathan Gannon sent a message louder than any postgame presser could deliver, and that is that this team values stability.

Jacoby Brissett set to continue leading the Cardinals:
Brissett isn’t the more dynamic athlete; he won’t turn broken plays into viral highlights or draw gasps from the viewers. But what he does offer is poise, leadership, and trust in the system, and that is exactly what the Cardinals need right now while they deal with an injured Murray. His ability to manage tempo, protect the football, and run the offense with precision could provide the structure that Arizona’s young roster needs.

Some Cardinals fans feel that Murray is now facing the reality that talent alone doesn’t guarantee trust. Since returning from injury, he’s flashed brilliance but also inconsistency, costly turnovers, missed reads, and frustration visible on the sideline. The Cardinals aren’t giving up on Kyler Murray, though; they want his health to be a priority while they’re also demanding more from everyone. In choosing Brissett, they’re taking all the measures to make sure that the Cardinals are not just put in the best position to win on Sunday, but for the rest of the season. They will need their star QB for the rest of the way to do so.
What are the chances that Cardinals QB Kyler Murray could be traded?
