GLENDALE – The San Francisco 49ers are trying to keep the Arizona Cardinals on their toes ahead of the teams’ Week 3 matchup. The 49ers claim that QB Brock Purdy still has a chance to play on Sunday, but it is a longshot. If he isn’t able to suit up, last week’s starter Mac Jones will make his second start for San Francisco. The confusion on who will start could be a tactic against Arizona to have them prepare for both QBs across the week.

Cardinals’ Campbell on who he would rather play:
Campbell does show respect to Jones, calling him a first-round talent. Jones has been thrusted into the starting role after Purdy suffered an injury in Week 1. The former Pro Bowler had a masterful performance in Week 2, throwing for 279 passing yards and three touchdowns.

The fifth-year pro is still a starting-caliber QB in this league, and Campbell understands that Arizona can’t treat him lightly. However, this is only Jones second week as the starter for San Francisco and it could be the moment for growing pains for the 27-year-old.
