PONTIAC — Phoenix Suns’ owner Mat Ishbia went viral on X (formerly Twitter) for his basketball skills during UWM and STM’s Charity Basketball Game on Thursday afternoon.

UWM and STM faced off in their annual friendly game, with proceeds from this year’s matchup benefiting Adopt-A-School — a program that provides supplies and mentorship to schools.

During the game, Ishbia passed by one of STM’s players for a tough layup. Ishbia celebrated with his teammates after making the shot, with cheers from the crowd.

The moment went viral on X after user SunsWorldwide posted the play, with 1,100 likes, 85 reposts and 164,400 views.

Basketball fans reacted to the moment, with some saying the owner should join Phoenix as a guard.
