GLENDALE – Sports Illustrated released its All-Quarter Century NFL team, voted by NFL writers and editors. The 84-player list has plenty of future Hall of Famers, including Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald making the first team. Fitzgerald received 17 points, tying for the most of any wide receiver with Randy Moss. The future Hall of Famer leads all receivers in receiving yards (17,492), receptions (1,432) and is third in total touchdowns (121) since 2000.

Cardinals legend makes All-Quarter Century first team:

During the 21st century, the 41-year-old was an 11-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro. Fitzgerald is widely considered one of the best postseason receivers in NFL history, most notably for his historic 2008 playoff run. Despite falling a Santino Holmes toe tap away from a Super Bowl victory, he recorded 546 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, both an All-Time single postseason record.

2015: Larry Fitzgerald’s game-winning touchdown in overtime capped a wild finish in a 26-20 win for the Cardinals over the Packers. The Packers forced overtime when Aaron Rodgers completed a fourth-and-20 pass for 60 yards to Jeff Janis, and then a 41-yard Hail Mary to Janis with five seconds remaining for the tying touchdown. Fitzgerald will find his statue in Canton and his name engraved inside State Farm Stadium for his contributions on the field. He is more than worthy to be named to the All-Century team and has an argument to be considered one of the best wide receivers in the league.
