According to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, Meesseman had interest from the Mercury as well as the Minnesota Lynx. The two-time All-Star hasn’t played in the league since 2022 and just recently finished playing for Belgium in EuroBasket this summer.

Meesseman played for the Washington Mystics for seven seasons, winning a championship with them in 2019 and being given Finals MVP. She played her last season with the Chicago Sky in 2022.

During her time with the Sky, she averaged 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

The Mercury still have 12 players on their roster, with Kiana Williams on a seven-day contract. No word yet on whether the team will extend her contract after Meesseman’s commitment to the Liberty.
