Home run derby for the D-Backs:

Arizona was embracing the longball on Wednesday night. It got started when James McCann hit a solo home run, followed by Eugenio Suárez hitting a solo homer of his own an inning later to give the Diamondbacks a quick 2-0 lead.

Leaving runners on base has been an issue for the Snakes, although they broke through when Geraldo Perdomo came in the clutch and hit a grand slam in the top of the fifth inning to give the D-Backs a 6-0 lead.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been on fire as of late and continued his hot streak on Wednesday night as he went 2-for-4 including two doubles. Tristin English took over duties at first base for the D-Backs and made his MLB Debut in front of friends and family, he was able to get his first big league RBI in his first win as a major leaguer.
