After entering the list unranked, Carroll’s recent surge has helped fuel Arizona during a stretch that included four straight series against the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. He has provided consistent production at the top of the lineup, combining power, speed and plate discipline as the D-Backs have reentered the wild-card conversation.
The Diamondbacks recently finished a 13-game stretch at 11-2, including two sweeps of the Giants at home and on the road. During that span, Carroll has served as a catalyst by getting on base and driving in key runs — including a 4-for-4 performance with two triples on May 24 against Colorado.

Over those 13 games, Carroll is hitting .373 with 19 hits, two home runs, eight RBIs and a 1.173 OPS, according to StatMuse.
Carroll hasn’t been the only Diamondbacks hitter surging lately.

Second baseman Ketel Marte also landed inside the top 10 of the Hitter Power Rankings, coming in at No. 9 after continuing his own strong offensive campaign. Marte has delivered timely extra-base hits while setting the tone at the top of the lineup, including the first walk-off home run of his career on May 19.
These offensive breakouts are encouraging signs.

When Carroll and Marte produce at this level at the same time, the D-Backs become one of the more dynamic offenses in the National League. Carroll’s ability to impact games both at the plate and on the bases continues to put pressure on opposing pitchers, while Marte’s consistency gives Arizona a dangerous one-two punch at the top of the lineup.
Sustaining this momentum will be important. With Carroll playing like one of baseball’s hottest hitters and Marte continuing to anchor the offense, Arizona appears to be finding its rhythm at an important point in the season.

Now, the challenge becomes sustaining it against tougher competition.
