GLENDALE – Less than a month away for the 2026 NFL Draft, and Arizona State football wide receiver Jordyn Tyson looks to become the 12th Sun Devil in the NFL. The ASU alumni is projected to be first-round pick because of his production the last two years, 136 catches for 1,812 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. The 21-year-old is set to fulfill a life-long drive of being drafted in the NFL, that started because of former Arizona Cardinals and current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray.

Tyson on Murray’s impact in Texas:
At 11 years old, Tyson went to every high school Murray started, which he went 42-0 and recorded over 14,000 total yards and 186 total touchdowns. The All-American had become one of the most famous athletes in the state of Texas, and a big part of Tyson’s growth in football. And with next month’s draft has a rare opportunity to play alongside his hero.

If Murray remained with Arizona, Tyson could’ve been a major reach at third overall for the franchise. However, the 28-year-old is now playing in Minnesota, that have the 18th overall pick and a much more reasonable place to be snagged. Despite the pick range, NFL.com. CBS Sports and other outlets’ mock drafts have the Vikings going defense and selecting Oregon’s Dillon Thieneman.
Draft expert Mike Band has Tyson going 21st to the Pittsburgh Steelers, while fellow expert Garrett Podell has the ASU standout going to the New York Jets. The high-teens seems to be the sweet spot for Tyson to land and potentially play with Texas legend Murray. However, wide receiver doesn’t seem to be a need for the franchise, and sadly ending a childhood dream.
