GLENDALE – New betting odds shows a clear favorite for who will be the Arizona Cardinals next head coach. After the firing of Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott, the odds shifted across the NFL for coaching candidates across different team. Many coordinators are connected to the Arizona job, with plenty coming from the NFC West division. However, BetOnline odds as of Monday had Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph as the heavy favorite.

9NEWS Mike Klis reported on Sunday that Joseph is a strong candidate for the job, and it isn’t hard to see why. The 53-year-old has been coaching since 1999 and in the NFL for the past two decades. He’s considered one of the best defensive minds in the league, which earned him a head coaching gig with Denver in 2017.

Despite the limited success and only lasting two seasons, Joseph quickly got another opportunity with the Cardinals in 2019 and lasted four years with the franchise. Owner Michael Bidwill knows Joseph and has relationship with him and many players on the roster that was there when he was the defensive coordinator.

Compared to the other candidates available, Joseph isn’t a fan favorite on social media. Regardless, the organization’s interest isn’t shocking. General manager Monti Ossenfort is leading the head coaching search, after being surprisingly kept with the firing of head coach Jonathan Gannon. Ossenfort is working for his job and the coach he hires to lead Arizona will be make or break for him. Reports to this point has made it clear Joseph is that guy.
