He and the Sun Devils have made two moves to boost that position for next season and beyond. Pete Thamel of ESPN reported that ASU promoted Jack Nudo to special teams coordinator. Nudo took over responsibilities on special teams when Charlie Ragel stepped away for health reasons. Nudo assisted Jesus Gomez to making 22 of 30 field goals (73.3 percent) and all 33 point after touchdown attempts in ASU’s 8-5 season in 2025.
He also coached Kanyon Floyd to averaging 41.4 yards per punt.

The Sun Devils will also bring in a former National Football League star to bump up special teams. Mike Scifres, a former fifth round pick of the 2003 NFL Draft, was a star punter for the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers from 2003 to 2015.
Arizona State’s special teams improved when Jack Nudo took over in November, now Nudo gets a promotion from ST assistant to coordinator.
