Dillon Brooks’ comments about LeBron James and his final shot:
For the first time since the game against the Lakers we heard from Dillon Brooks on his altercation with Lebron James along with the late foul call.

After practice on Wednesday, Brooks said he wished the Suns had let LeBron James take the final shot without being fouled at the end of their matchup on Sunday, because he believed it would’ve been an airball. (Credit: Griffin S. DeMarrais | AZCentral) He wasn’t just criticising a legend, he was leaning into his true attitude and mindset, and his feelings towards LeBron James. Brooks’ follow-up, calling LeBron a “social media junkie, was painting a picture that he understands that his comments could find their way back to James. Brooks also mentioned that he feels like James wants people to feel the way he wants them to feel.

For Phoenix fans, this matters because it signals a philosophical shift. Brooks has never cared about being liked or what people think, even when calling out the NBA’s biggest superstar. Brooks’s personality has never been about managing perception; he’s here to let everybody know how he really feels. The Suns having someone willing to be disliked brings a whole new edge and intensity that they have been lacking in the past. That mentality is one of the reasons why other players on Phoenix’s roster have said Dillon Brooks is helping change the culture.
