Leavitt’s departure represents a modest shakeup for Arizona State heading into next season. With several seniors declaring for the NFL draft and other players also entering the portal, the roster is expected to look different from what it did in 2024.
All eyes will now be not only on Leavitt, but also on Dillingham as he works to identify the quarterback who will replace him. Leavitt’s combination of speed and passing ability will not be easy to replicate, leaving college football fans eager to see who steps into the starting role.

Dillingham’s post also reflects his approach as a leader and head coach. While many ASU fans expressed disappointment and frustration over Leavitt’s decision, especially after reports that he skipped the team’s banquet over the weekend, Dillingham has shown no public resentment.
As 2025 winds down and ASU prepares for its final game of the year, the Sun Devils’ head coach has made it clear there is no bad blood between the program and its departing quarterback.
