GLENDALE – This season of Arizona Cardinals football seems to be cursed. The injury plague began months before the 2025 season, with Sean Murphy-Bunting and Starling Thomas V being ruled out for the season with serious leg injuries. The lower body injuries continued with other key players like James Conner, Tip Reiman, Trey Benson and recently Zay Jones last week with a torn Achilles. If the Heavens couldn’t make the curse more obvious, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is missing Week 11 due to appendicitis.
Appendicitis isn’t completely uncommon, as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had to have appendix surgery three years ago. However, the injury is just another tally on the unbearably long injury list for Arizona that has completely derailed their season.

The gruesome list doesn’t even include many other names that has missed significant time like rookies Walter Nolen and Will Johnson, and key defensive starters like Garrett Williams and Mack Wilson Sr. this season. At a certain point, one most accept the reality they’re in, and for the Cardinals its a very bleak one.
At 3-6, there isn’t much to strive for the franchise besides surviving this nightmare. This year appears to be lost, which could make head coach Jonathan Gannon and other leaders in Arizona wonder if they should start to shut down or be precautious for their future star players like Harrison or Trey McBride.
