Travis Wakeman, writer from The Sporting News, recently mentioned that the Cardinals should trade Marvin Harrison Jr. in a shocking blockbuster deal to the Denver Broncos. The Cardinals, in his hypothetical scenario, would send Harrison Jr. over for a 2026 first-round draft pick, a 2026 third-round draft pick, and LB Drew Sanders. In a league where receiver value is skyrocketing, the Cardinals’ temptation to explore Harrison’s trade value must be weighed against what he can become in Arizona. Yet in the NFL, his usage has been modest. This gap between potential and output is the big question. Is the organization under-utilizing him, or is his fit with the team flawed?

Could the Cards really be even entertaining the idea of trading their new star WR? Marvin Harrison Jr.’s time so far on the Cards has been frustrating, as his multiple dropped passes have been a huge problem for their offense. Trading a top-end young receiver when his value is still ascending will bring great short-term assets, though it forfeits the chance to build a long-term identity. The Cards must decide between developing Harrison as the offense’s cornerstone or treating him as a high-value chip to rebuild elsewhere.

In Arizona, fans crave hope and tangible building blocks. A bold trade could provoke backlash as some would question the message being sent to Cards fans. Nationally, Harrison Jr.’s situation becomes a case study for how teams manage struggling young receivers, as the Cards will have to show their patience level. Harrison Jr. is more than a prospect; he’s hope incarnate. Trading him would feel like abandoning that hope.
