With 15 games left in the 2025 MLB season, the D-Backs are only 3.5 games back, with the help of a certain team on the East Coast. The New York Mets are doing New York Mets things. Known for collapsing late in the season and never reaching the top, despite having all the talent, it appears to be happening again in 2025. The Mets have currently lost the last five games and have left the door open for a few teams, including the Arizona Diamondbacks.

This upcoming series against the Minnesota Twins could be one of the most crucial series to come away with a series win, and even a sweep. With the second-worst record in the American League, the Twins are seemingly just going through the motions as they have lost the last 8 of 10 games, including recently getting swept by the Chicago White Sox. If there was any time for the D-Backs to gain some ground in the NL Wild Card race, it is now.

What comes next for the D-Backs after the Twins might need to include a couple of deep breaths, as they take on the likes of the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the San Diego Padres. Before that stretch is another massive three-game series with the San Francisco Giants, who are fighting alongside the D-Backs for that last spot in the NL Wild Card. If Arizona can get some wins before this tough stretch to end the season, it could give the Diamondbacks some late-season momentum to propel them on a postseason run.
