GLENDALE – Not a good sight for Arizona Cardinals fans, as starting quarterback Kyler Murray was added to the team’s injury report because of an undisclosed illness. Arizona announced early Sunday morning of Murray’s condition, only four hours before kickoff to their season opener. However, the 28-year-old’s game status didn’t change and will battle through his sickness in Week 1 vs. New Orleans Saints.

Murray battling an illness in Cardinals season opener:
Since returning from his ACL tear in 2023, Murray hasn’t missed a game. The two-time Pro-Bowler has appeared in 25 straight games, the second-longest streak in his career. The 2024 season was the first time Murray has played a full season since 2020 and was primed to repeat that feat this season.

The illness put some dampers on the Cardinals season opener, as fans worry about the condition of their starting quarterback. Arizona remains the favorite against New Orleans, being favored by -5.5 points. However, this is just another hurdle that Murray and his team will need to overcome to start the 2025 season.
