TEMPE – After a career-defining Junior season, Arizona State football wide receiver Jordyn Tyson was named to the Associated Press Preseason All-America first team. Tyson was the only ASU player on the list, with the only other Big 12 player being Utah offensive lineman Spencer Fano.

Other publications and lists, like ESPN and Walter Camp, had Tyson on its second team, but he arguably earns one of the most prestigious honors in preseason polls.

ASU Tyson earns AP Honors:

In his first full season with the Sun Devils, Tyson was electric in every sense in the word. In 12 games, the 21-year-old recorded 75 catches for 1,110 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. In his final six games of his junior season, Tyson averaged 732 receiving yards and a touchdown a game to solidify his ranks as one of the best collegiate receivers in the nation.

The departure of last year’s Heisman finalists Cam Skattebo opens the door for quarterback Sam Leavitt and Tyson to fully take over ASU’s offense next season. Head coach Kenny Dillingham has had the team flushed the memories of last season success, but the Associated Press remembers the impact Tyson brought and will bring in 2025 for the Sun Devils.
