When the D-Backs need a clutch hit, Marte has been the one to deliver. Over the past two seasons, no player in baseball has left a bigger mark late in games than him. Marte has crushed 12 ninth-inning home runs, the most in the MLB since 2024.

It’s not just the number that’s impressive, it’s the timing. The moment when pitchers are fighting to close the door and hitters are battling nerves, Marte seems to thrive in that chaos. Delivering massive moments for the D-Backs when they desperately needed them is nothing new. Marte did so on Wednesday afternoon when he hit a towering three-run home run 413 feet to right-center field to give the Snakes s a 6-4 lead and the eventual win.

For the D-Backs, those late surges have meant more than highlight clips. The Snakes are doing everything to flip deficits into wins and keep rallies alive. Marte’s ability to come through in those moments has given Arizona the energy they need to keep their momentum going.
