Fowler on McBride’s impact on Cardinals:
“McBride rewarded that usage with a Year 3 breakout that included 111 catches for 1,116 yards on his way to a first Pro Bowl nod. His 147 targets last season ranked second among tight ends, and McBride turned those targets into 7.8 yards per clip. He has run-after-catch ability with speed and good hands and is a capable blocker.”

An NFL coordinator called him the “best receiving tight end out there” and giving elite defensive backs major trouble. McBride was the only tight end, outside of Kittle and Bowers, to receive first-place vote and it’s not hard to understand why. The 25-year-old was second in receiving yards and receptions, showcasing as one of the elite pass catchers at the position.
The reason McBride wasn’t able to make it into the Top 3 was because his struggle of finding the endzone, with an NFL personnel director stating, “[The] lack of touchdowns hurts him a bit for me if we’re talking about top-five guys.” McBride has an opportunity to fix that aspect of his game in his fourth season, as the Cardinals strive for their first playoffs berth since 2021.
