Cardinals Gannon with fifth-best odds of being fired:

The Cardinals coaching history is an extensive one, as the franchise has has eight head coaches in the 21st century. The bar set by those coaches aren’t particular high with only three of them recording a playoff win. However, the five other coaches that failed to recorded a playoff win were fired after their third or fourth season at the helm.

Gannon is entering his third season with Arizona and doubled the team’s win total from Year 1 to Year 2. The injuries and talent on the roster held the team from making the playoffs last year, falling a couple games short of its first postseason since 2021.

Other Sportsbooks have the Cardinals win total hovering around 8.5, which is where they finished last year at 8-9. For Gannon to make the playoffs, he’ll need his team to surpass that win total and take advantage of the 27th-easiest schedule next season in the NFL. Gannon has showed enough in his first two years to give himself the benefit of the doubt, incase of falling short next year.

Regardless, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for ownership and the front office to fire the head coach for missing the playoffs in Year 3.
