It’ll be the first time in the 2025 season that the Arizona Diamondbacks will be facing off against the St. Louis Cardinals. These two teams have similar records as Arizona comes into this weekend with a 26-24 record and the Cardinals have a 27-23 record. They are also both coming into this series after recently losing two out of three in the previous series after winning the first game. St. Louis has been dominant at Busch Gardens though as they have a 16-8 record.

The D-Backs are fourth in the NL West while the St. Louis Cardinals are second in their division. Arizona currently sits five games out of first place, but this just goes to show that this entire 2025 season is going to be a race till the end with how talented their division is.
Players to watch:
Ketel Marte has been on a tear as of late. In his last seven games, Marte is hitting a .321 batting average, an on-base percentage of .424, and slugging .750. Not to mention he also has nine hits with four home runs. Marte is one of the main leaders if not the biggest on this team, and is one of those players that elevates those around him.

The optimism surrounding Justin Martinez’s arrival is a great sign and a sigh of relief for this D-Backs ball club as bullpen issues have been more than a problem. Head Coach Torey Lovullo said on Wednesday, “There’s a really good chance he will be joining us in St. Louis.” (Credit: Arizona Sports). His rehab game in Triple-A Reno on Tuesday went exactly as hoped, and it sounds like Martinez will be back on the mound soon.
