TEMPE – Arizona State men’s basketball secures its seventh transfer and 12th player commitment to the 2025-2026 roster in San Diego sophomore forward Santiago Trouet. The Argentine forward announced his commitment to ASU over the weekend, joining head coach Bobby Hurley’s reinvented roster.

Trouet announces commitment to ASU:

During his sophomore campaign, Trouet averaged 8.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steal in 25.3 minutes on 43.7% shooting. The 6’10 forward played against ASU last season, where he dropped 10 points and six rebounds in the blowout loss. Trouet’s massive frame and size give Hurley a lot of flexibility for how he can use the big man next season.

Despite Trouet’s size, he isn’t scared to let it fly from deep, averaging 1.6 3-pointer attempts last season. However, Trouet shot an abysmal 20.7% from beyond the arc and still needs to improve that part of his game. Hurley loves to empower his players to spread the floor, including with freshman center Jayden Quaintance last year.

The addition of Trouet gives ASU some much needed size for the roster, and likely finishes out Hurley’s rotation heading int0 next season.
