TEMPE — Arizona State men’s basketball made a major splash in the transfer portal this week landing one of the nation’s most productive mid-major guards in Adante’ Holiman.

He averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 41.8% from the field, providing an instant scoring boost to a Sun Devils backcourt that saw significant turnover this offseason.
The Oklahoma native also contributed on the defensive end with 29 total steals, showing his ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor. With a quick first step and confident jumper, Holiman is expected to bring explosiveness and shot-making to an ASU has lost a lot of offensive and defensive strength after last season.

Arizona State lost multiple key players to the portal in recent weeks, including guards Adam Miller, Shawn Phillips, and Jayden Quaintance, all of whom played major roles last season. Holiman’s arrival helps fill that void and signals head coach Bobby Hurley’s intent to remain competitive in the revamped Big 12 Conference.
Holiman joins Marcus Adams, a transfer from UNLV, and four-star recruit Marcus Jackson in attempts to add reinforcement and talent to the Sun Devil’s roster as they prepare for next season.
Holiman began his college career at UT Rio Grande Valley before transferring to UTSA, and transferring again to play his junior year at Georgia Southern. His combination of experience, leadership, and scoring ability makes him a strong candidate to step into a starting role immediately.
The Sun Devils are expected to remain aggressive in the transfer market as they look to reload their roster ahead of the 2025–26 season. With Holiman now in the fold, Arizona State adds one of the most efficient guards available in the portal—and potentially a new fan favorite in Tempe.
