On Sunday, the team unveiled its new season campaign“This is Mercury Basketball” — a bold, community-focused message aimed at redefining not just how the team plays, but what it represents to fans, players, and the city of Phoenix.

“Mercury basketball isn’t just something you watch,” the team wrote in a social media thread. “It’s something you feel. It’s basketball. It’s joy. It’s community. Let’s write the next chapter together.”

The campaign rolls out as the Mercury prepare for a new era. While the roster continues to evolve on the court, the franchise is making a clear commitment off of it — to its fans, to local you, and to the future of women’s basketball.

“It’s an arena where you come as your true self,” the team wrote. “Where you will feel safe, seen and celebrated. This is Mercury Basketball.”

The campaign’s messaging spotlights everything from player empowerment to community investment. It references the team’s newly renovated practice facility, the impact of youth courts across Phoenix, and the significance of “cold-blooded plays” and “moments that will be talked about forever.”

One standout line encapsulates the Mercury’s vision: “Investing in women’s basketball isn’t a question. It’s the answer.”

The Mercury, one of the WNBA’s most iconic franchises, are embracing a modern voice — inclusive, unapologetic, and woven into the identity of Phoenix. In a city with a growing women’s sports presence, the team’s campaign reads not only as a rallying cry, but a blueprint.

This is Mercury Basketball — and it’s more than a season slogan. It’s a movement.
