TEMPE – Arizona State men’s basketball prepares for its final showdown against inter-state rival No. 24 Arizona tonight, looking not to get swept in the season series two years in a row. Head coach Bobby Hurley has had to shuffle the lineup the last few weeks because of countless injuries and program dismissals. It has been a circus for Hurley to figure out the rotation, with sometimes only six scholarship guys eligible. Luckily, Hurley gets one of those players back from injury in senior guard Adam Miller.

Miller is fourth in scoring for the current Sun Devils, with 10.2 points per game. The Peoria, Illinois native is the best volume shooter on the roster, leading the team in 3-point attempts, makes, and percentage. From January to the beginning of February, Miller went on a stretch where he scored in double figures seven times out of eight games before nagging injuries derailed the second half of the month. Miller missed ASU’s last game against Utah after an injury suffered against BYU.

The injury occurred during a loose rebound, where a BYU guard collided with Miller. The senior guard tried to play through it, but Hurley stopped him to protect his player. However, now that Miller is back, he will be a huge addition for Arizona State, which is desperate in bodies. In his last matchup against Arizona, Miller dropped 16 points on 5-for-11 shooting. ASU will need a big night for Miller offensively to dethrone its rival.
