Jimmy Butler has reportedly been seeking a trade from the Heat since the beginning of December, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The NBA insider also reported that the Phoenix Suns were atop Butler’s list of preferred destinations. Shortly after, Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, denied all reports, only for Charania to go on NBA Today and double down on his reporting of the matter.
Butler even went as far as changing his hair color bright orange the day after it was reported that the Suns were in play for the six-time All-Star.
Countless possible trades were being made throughout social media and Suns fans were preparing to welcome in Butler without hesitation. The rumors were very real. Amidst a rough losing streak compounded by untimely injuries, Phoenix guard Bradley Beal commented on the various trade conversations between Phoenix and Miami that he was a part of.
Not only is Riley’s statement good for the Heat, it is good for a Suns roster that is desperately trying to come together to turn the season around.
