The Cardinals suffered a one-point devastating loss to the Vikings on Sunday resulting in the Cardinals dropping from the top spot in the NFC West. For the team, the defeat is still fresh on the brain and the message is staying consistent. The execution to get the ball in the endzone was a failure and the opportunity to put away a good team was missed.

The loss is a letdown for the team, the Cardinals now with two back-to-back losses on the road, perhaps now the Cardinals have a home-field advantage in the upcoming game on Sunday that could give the team the boost needed for a win. Can the Cardinals truly bounce back and clean up the offensive penalties in the red zone?
Today former Arizona State coach Herm Edwards, on ESPN today discussed the Cardinal’s shortcomings against the Vikings and said, “…sets them back…, Cardinals had a missed opportunity.”
The former Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. met with the media today explaining how reviewing film highlighted the opportunities the Cardinals had to win. Wilson Sr. back in March signed a three-year contract as an unrestricted free agent with the Cardinals, summed up how the team reacted after the loss and how the team will leverage the upset to launch the Cardinals forward past the two-game nightmare.

Arizona Cardinals Mac Wilson Sr’s NoteCARDS, provided via the Arizona Cardinals website:
- Played in 77 games with 32 starts during the regular season and has 212 tackles (134 solo).
- Appeared in two postseason games and totaled five tackles.
- Recorded a sack in three consecutive games last season (Weeks 14-16).
- Led the Browns with nine special teams tackles in 2021.
- One of just three rookies in 2019 to record 80+ tackles, a sack, an INT, and a forced fumble (Devin White and Devin Bush).
“It’s tough when you just want to win”, said Wilson Sr. “… high-power offense, high-power team, good defense, you just want to go out and win that game so bad and just to fall short is tough, …it’s a learning experience for all of us and it just lit a fire under all of us, … I know guys are going to bounce back from this one.”
Head Coach Jonathan Gannon also talked about what the Cardinals need to do moving forward. Gannon discussed locking in and playing clean football pre-snap, then providing the disheartened reaction the team had reviewing tape and how the team is processing the mistakes that resulted in the Viking’s victory. A cohesive message from the organization to focus on the next opponent and make it count, learn from this experience, stay disciplined, and bounce back to get a win against the Seahawks.
Time to turn it around.

Undoubtedly the Cardinals remain optimistic after the devastating defeat, the team looks ahead to the second matchup against long-time rivals. If all goes as planned, the defense stays consistent, keeps penalties at bay, and includes the Cardinal’s home-field advantage this time the odds could be in the Cardinals’ favor to truly push forward and bounce back.
