K-State was ranked No. 16 before falling out of the rankings entirely because of the loss.
Now with a ranking, it is the first time the Sun Devils have been in the Top 25 since Week 7 of the 2021 season and the first time ever since Kenny Dillingham was hired as ASU head coach.
ASU was already on the cusp of a ranking last month after it knocked off Utah 27-19 when the Utes were No. 16/17 on Oct. 11. The Sun Devils received 39 votes but just missed the cut.
With victories over Kansas State and Utah, it also marked the first time Arizona State has multiple ranked wins in a season since 2019.
Arizona State will host No. 14 BYU (9-1, 6-1) on Nov. 26 in an elimination game. Whoever wins will improve its chances of claiming a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game while the other will see those hopes vanish.
Going into their matchup against Kansas (4-6, 3-4), BYU was ranked No. 7 before falling seven spots after suffering a shocking 19-13 loss. If ASU wins out and BYU loses to Arizona State but wins its last game of the season against Houston (4-6, 3-4), the Sun Devils will have the head-to-head tiebreaker.

BYU, No. 16 Colorado, No. 21 Arizona State and No. 22 Iowa State are the four teams in the AP Top 25 from the Big 12.
