While Skattebo was warming up in full equipment, KSNT News reporter Landon Reinhardt stated on X/Twitter that the 5-foot-11 running back will return vs. the Wildcats after a one-game absence.

“Arizona State senior running back Cam Skattebo (No. 4) ready to go tonight against K-State after missing the Sun Devils’ last matchup against UCF,” Reinhardt said.

This is a huge boost for the Sun Devils as they will need any help they can get to win tonight and maintain a chance at clinching a spot in the Big 12 title game.

Colorado won 49-24 over Utah and is in second in the conference with an 8-2 record. BYU continues to be a dominant force in the Big 12 and is very close to securing a spot in the championship. The Cougars are currently 9-0 on the year and 6-0 in the conference before they face Kansas tonight.

Following practice last Wednesday, Dillingham announced that things were looking positive with Skattebo’s recovery before he indeed will be back.

“He’s doing really well. He is gonna play barring something changing. You would expect him to play the football game, I fully expect him to play this week unless something changes,” Dillingham said. “It’s exciting to get him back barring something happening over the next couple of days, and I know he is ready to get back.”

Skattebo was forced to miss Arizona State’s last game against UCF because of the injury he suffered the week prior vs. Oklahoma State. He walked around the sidelines without his shoulder pads and jersey in the fourth quarter before sitting out the remainder of the 42-21 win over the Cowboys. The 5-foot-11 senior received the honor of being the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time this season after his 274-yard game against Oklahoma State where he scored three touchdowns.

In his second season as a Sun Devil, the California native has rushed for 1,001 yards and 11 touchdowns as well as 27 catches for an additional 404 yards and two touchdowns.

Stepping up in Skattebo’s absence vs. UCF, Kyson Brown got crucial first downs from rushing for 73 yards off of 18 carries in the 35-31 victory.

Kick-off between ASU and Kansas State at 6 p.m. MST in Manhattan, Kan.
