Suns fans indifferent on ‘gutsy’ 116-113 overtime victory over Clippers in season opener

Entering Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns were set to begin their quest for a NBA championship but it was far from easy.

Even when they led by as much as 14 points in the second quarter, they had to come back from a late nine-point deficit to beat the Kawhi Leonard-less Los Angeles Clippers 116-113 in overtime.

Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant both scored 25 points for the Suns while former ASU star James Harden recorded a double-double, with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Jusuf Nurkić made two crucial free throws with a few seconds left in extra time and Grayson Allen came up with the game-sealing steal to secure the victory.

The Suns turned the ball 22 times, shot a dismal 14-of-23 (60.9%) from the free throw line at one point, were outrebounded 51-42 and Devin Booker fouled out.

With the new season now underway and expectations high going in, the Suns fans let out their emotions about the team pulling off a dramatic win and starting the year 1-0.
