After two decades with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, Tony Perezchica is moving on to join the Houston Astros as their new third base coach, according to a report from AZ Central. Perezchica, who has been with the Diamondbacks’ coaching staff since 2017, has a long history with the franchise, having first joined the organization in 2003. His journey began in the minors, where he managed at various levels, including Rookie, Class-A, and Double-A, before eventually taking over as the Diamondbacks’ third base coach.

A former infielder himself, Perezchica’s playing days spanned across four seasons in Major League Baseball, with stints on teams such as the San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Indians.
Perezchica marks the 4th coach that has either left or been let go this offseason, with the others being pitching coaches Brent Strom and Dan Carlson plus bullpen coach Mike Fetters.
