Last season, both Walker and Moreno claimed Gold Gloves at their respective positions. Walker, now a free agent, is in the running for his third consecutive award, while McCarthy, Marte, and Gurriel Jr. are seeking their first.
In 2024, the Diamondbacks boasted the best team fielding percentage in all of Major League Baseball at .989. They also committed the fewest errors with 62, compared to the next best team, the Braves, who had 68.
The Gold Glove selection process involves votes from MLB managers and coaches, accounting for 75% of the decision, with the remaining 25% based on the SABR Defensive Index. The winners will be announced during ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” on Nov. 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
