Heading into their Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, the Arizona Cardinals have a very short injury report for Wednesday. Starting quarterback Kyler Murray was added to the report with a knee injury and listed as a full participant. There are no indications that he’ll miss the game against the Rams. Additionally Xavier Weaver has returned to practice, in a limited capacity, after missing Week 1 with an oblique injury.

In an injury update earlier on Wednesday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that starting right tackle Jonah Williams was going on injured reserve with a knee injury and Max Melton is in concussion protocol.

Did Not Participate

Cardinals

  • CB Max Melton (concussion)

Rams

  • OL Kevin Dotson (foot)
  • DB Cobie Durant (toe)
  • TE Davis Allen (back)

Max Melton played 11 snaps in Week 1 on defense, the fourth most at the position after Sean Murphy-Bunting (62), Starling Thomas V (51), and nickel corner Garrett Williams (38). Should he be unavailable, Kei’Trel Clark seems most in line to take those opportunities on defense.

Dotson suffered a lateral ankle sprain against the Lions and is considered day-to-day. Stu Jackson reports that the Rams will be careful with him this week and the expectation is he’ll play on Sunday. Offensive line injuries are mounting for Los Angeles, who already put starting left tackle Joe Noteboom and interior lineman Steve Avila on injured reserve this week.

Durant is a starting cornerback for the Rams and played well in their Week 1 game against the Lions. While his situation is up in the air, the Rams added former first rounder Ahkello Witherspoon to the practice squad.

Limited Participation

Cardinals

  • WR Xavier Weaver (oblique)

Rams

  • OL Rob Havenstein (foot)
  • LB Christian Rozeboom (hip)

Xavier Weaver is back at practice after missing the first week due to an oblique injury. Marvin Harrison Jr. led the unit with 55 snaps, followed by 49 for Michael Wilson, and 37 for Greg Dortch. On special teams, Deejay Dallas successfully returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in the 4th quarter, becoming the first-ever NFL player to do so. Dallas would likely be the primary kickoff returner, with Dortch as the punt returner if he needs to take another week.

Rob Havenstein missed the Rams Week 1 loss to the Lions with an ankle injury, which at the minimum has put at least four starting offensive line spots into question against the Cardinals. In addition to the injuries, Alaric Jackson is serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Starting linebacker Christian Rozeboom is battling a hip injury after playing in Week 1. Rozeboom recorded nine tackles in the game.

Full Participation

Cardinals

  • QB Kyler Murray (knee)

Rams

  • No players listed

Kyler Murray’s inclusion on the injury report isn’t necessarily a concern. Murray played all 61 snaps against the Bills and didn’t show much signs of extra wear throughout the game. Unless the situation gets any worse, expect him to suit up and play all the snaps on Sunday.
