In the Diamondbacks’ dominant 11-1 win over the Phillies on Saturday, both Ketel Marte and Zac Gallen exited early due to injuries.

The injury occurred when Garrett Stubbs slid headfirst into second base. Marte acknowledged that he didn’t believe Stubbs intended any harm with the slide, and he expressed confidence that he would be ready to play on Monday. While Marte will miss the series finale against Philadelphia, he is not expected to be sidelined for an extended period.
Before exiting, during his only at-bat, Marte launched his 30th home run this season to give Arizona an early 1-0 lead.
As for Zac Gallen, the Diamondbacks received relatively positive news regarding their ace. Gallen left the game in the fifth inning with a groin injury, with the runner on base coming around to score, accounting for his only earned run. Gallen later joked, “Just have to drink more water,” and mentioned that he knew right away it was just a cramp. He emphasized that the injury is not serious and he has no concerns moving forward.
The Diamondbacks will aim for a series win over the Phillies with the first pitch at 1:10 p.m. Merrill Kelly, who hasn’t pitched in a major league game since April 15th, will be on the mound for Arizona
