Druw Jones will be one of five outfielders representing the National League. Jones was drafted second overall by the Diamondbacks in the 2022 MLB Draft. Despite a slow start due to injuries, the 20-year-old has recently shown improvement with the Visalia Rawhide in the California League. This season, across 63 games, he has posted a .263 batting average, scored 40 runs, and has an OPS of .774.
Deyvison De Los Santos has experienced a rapid rise to Triple-A. Since his Triple-A debut a few months ago, De Los Santos has posted a .326 batting average and leads MiLB in home runs this year with 26. On Sunday, the first baseman drove in all eight of the Reno Aces’ runs in their win over the Oklahoma City Baseball Club, thanks to an RBI base hit, a three-run home run, and a grand slam. Over his last two games, De Los Santos has recorded five hits, driven in 10 runs, and hit three home runs.
While De Los Santos may not be ready for the majors just yet, given his limited time in Triple-A, he has made a strong case for a potential debut in the majors next season.
Last year, Jordan Lawlar was the Diamondbacks’ lone prospect representing them at the Futures Game. Lawlar went 0-2 at the plate with two strikeouts.
