There had been a lot of rumors over the past few days that Phoenix would trade down, and now they make the move and acquire future assets.
Marquette point guard Tyler Kolek and Virginia forward Ryan Dunn, two players the Suns have been linked to, are still available.
The Suns now increase their future second-round picks from only two (Boston’s 2028 pick and their own 2031 pick) to five with the deal.
Additionally, even though many don’t think they have any draft capital, Phoenix will also still have a first-round pick in 2026, 2028 and 2030 as well due to all of these being pick swaps, but could be in a bad position with those if they finish in the lottery and have to give up a good pick. The Suns also gained the right to trade their own 2031 first-round pick tonight.
The second round begins tomorrow at 1 p.m. MST, and Suns’ fans will now get to tune in and watch their team pick.
