While the Minnesota Lynx are one of the hottest teams in the WNBA with a three-game winning streak and victorious in five of their past six games, one of their recent, high draft picks will remain out of action as they gear up to face the Phoenix Mercury.

Diamond Miller, the second overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, will miss her seventh consecutive game with a right knee injury. Before the injury, the New Jersey native averaged 4.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists in three games (all starts).

Last season, she demonstrated why she was taken as high as she was in the draft as her elite scoring ability translated from college over into the pros. Starting in all 32 games she played last season, the Maryland product averaged 12.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for Minnesota.

For Phoenix, there is a slight chance that either one or both Brittney Griner and Rebecca Allen will return to the lineup tonight. Both have been out but upgraded to questionable on Thursday, more information will come out soon.

Griner has yet to make her 2024 regular season debut after suffering a toe fracture on her left foot during preseason. Allen has been out since sustaining a concussion following a brutal collision against the Dallas Wings on May 25, causing her to leave the game in the third quarter.

Tip-off between the Mercury and Lynx commences at 7 p.m. PT inside Footprint Center.
