The world of social media is a place like no other with factually correct information combatting false news surrounding clickbait as Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant was targetted by a parody account claiming he has an online dating profile.

According to an account on X (formerly Twitter) called “Hater Report,” they took a screenshot of “NBA Centel,” another parody account, posting that Durant allegedly has a profile on the popular dating app, Tinder.

As a response, the picture also showed that Durant called out the account by saying, “Look at these clowns, believing this is real.”

At the time of reporting, there is no evidence that the Tinder profile is real based on the many falsehoods that “NBA Centel” is known for. “The “NBA Centel” account has been flagged on posts for misinformation by X themselves and based on the language used on the profile, it is fair to deem this false.

Durant did delete his response as it is not popping up when searching for it under the original post.

Not slowing down in terms of gaining social media traction, the post has 2.4 million views on X and left people wondering if they want to believe it or brush it away. By Durant debunking the rumor, however, it is just another rumor added to the list made by “NBA Centel” with no credible sources.
