Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen has been pulled from Thursday’s game after facing just one hitter. Gallen gave up a single to Francisco Lindor, then threw one pitch to DJ Stewart before reacting pain. After getting visited by trainer Ryan DiPanfilo, he left the game. Steve Gilbert, the Diamondbacks beat reporter for MLB.com, noted that Gallen had a noticeable limp when walking off the field.

Gallen has dealt with hamstring issues earlier this season, having to leave a game April 26 with right hamstring issues. In his previous start against Detroit, he felt the hamstring tighten up.
Right-hander Bryce Jarvis came in to replace the injured Gallen in the first. From the game preview, Arizona’s bullpen is fairly well-rested going into the game, but they’ll have to piece together 27 outs for this game.
In a later update, the Diamondbacks announced that Gallen was removed from the game with a right hamstring strain.
