After suffering a devastating 13-1 loss to Salpointe Catholic just one week ago, the Flagstaff Eagles defeated them 3-1 on Saturday, proving once again why they are one of the most dangerous teams in the conference.

However, head coach Kenny Macias and the team did not let that deter them from their ultimate goal as they defeated Bradshaw Mountain and Salpointe Catholic in the span of just three days while outscoring them 19-7.
Flagstaff has dominated both offensively and defensively this season, consisting of six different players with at least 25 hits and four different players with over 20 stolen bases.
Their pitching continues to be one of the most consistent in the entire conference, with four players possessing a sub-3.0 ERA on the season. Junior Connor Iniguez and sophomore Will Carpenter have led the bullpen with a combined 15-3 record on 18 starts.
Coming off back-to-back huge playoff wins, the Eagles now advance to the 4A semifinals and have a date set with the Saguaro Sabercats.
Saguaro baseball, Cam Caminiti advance to semifinals following win against Salpointe
The Sabercats (26-3) currently rank as the No. 6 team in Arizona and the No. 1 team in the 4A conference, according to MaxPreps.
Led by highly-recruited MLB prospect and LSU commit Cam Caminiti, Saguaro has steamrolled its way to the semifinals.
Caminiti is 8-0 in pitching starts with a ridiculous 0.92 ERA. He also leads the team with 32 hits and three home runs on a 0.500 batting average. Flagstaff’s top priority will be attempting to contain the two-way phenom.
This matchup between two of the conference’s top teams is set to take place on Wednesday, May 8 @ 6:30 p.m. MST. It will happen at Tempe Diablo Stadium.
