Before joining Texas A&M, he committed and de-committed from Florida and Georgia.
The Florida native played three games for Texas A&M where he scored a touchdown and had a reception for 13 yards.
As a result of the Aggies firing head coach Jimbo Fisher, Cottrell entered the portal on Nov. 13, 2023, before transferring to Kentucky on Dec. 9. He was eligible to be a redshirt which would give him four years of college eligibility.
But just four months after joining Kentucky, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver would re-enter the portal on April 16.
If Cottrell does indeed join ASU, the Sun Devils would get to fill in a major hole in the program’s roster.
On Thursday, it was announced that Elijah Badger will visit Arizona State’s arch-rival, the University of Arizona, after entering the portal almost a month ago. Without Badger, ASU has senior Jake Smith, junior Troy Omeire and sophomore Jordyn Tyson at wideout.
