In case you missed it, the Arizona Cardinals orchestrated one of the most unexpected trades of the NFL offseason so far, sending Rondale Moore to the Falcons in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! While the Cardinals already have their franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray, the backup position has been a consistent struggle for Arizona due to Murray’s history of injuries.
In 2022, the Cardinals cycled through four different starting quarterbacks, and last season saw three changes at the position.
Thus, having Desmond Ridder, who started 13 games with the Falcons in 2023, provides a valuable insurance policy in case Murray faces another injury.
However, not all fans were necessarily supportive of the trade. Rondale Moore has been a Cardinal for all three seasons of his career. Despite a decline in production last year, averaging just 20 yards per game, Moore has demonstrated flashes of potential, particularly given his status as one of the fastest wide receivers in the league.
Here’s a glimpse at what fans from both sides had to say about this latest offseason move:
How were the Falcons possibly able to get a 1 year rental of Rondale Moore for cheap?

The more I watch Rondale Moore the more I’d love to see him get a good shot as a good target on this team. Dude has crazy skills hope we can use him!!

Quick scouting report on Rondale Moore that I just received from a friend in Arizona:
"Very speedy, very shifty. Felt like he never got his footing in Arizona."

Rondale Moore, a former second round pick with 4.32 speed. Former First-Team All-American in College who hasn't lived up to expectations with the Cardinals. A change of scenery may be just what he needs. https://t.co/Etxd6sB6UD

So any role planned for Rondale Moore this season just became Greg Dortch’s job.
Light the Dortch baby!
