Hopkins was traded to Arizona in 2o2o in exchange for running back David Johnson and a pair of draft picks.

He spent three seasons in the valley but had trouble staying on the field. After a dominant first season with the team, putting up 115 receptions for 1407 yards and six touchdowns, Hopkins suffered injuries and a suspension derailing his career in Arizona.

Despite their first season’s success, the two had some trouble remaining on the same page over the final two seasons.

The veteran receiver was released from the team last year and ultimately signed a two-year deal with the Tennessee Titans. Hopkins has had continuous inconsistent quarterback play throughout his career and has still produced all-time numbers.

While fans continue to be back and forth on the topic, those part of the Cardinals’ organization have made it clear that Murray is the franchise’s guy going forward.

After returning from a torn ACL mid-way through last season, Murray showcased what he was capable of with limited resources. Arizona currently has over $50 million in cap space, as free agency is now less than a week away from beginning. They also hold both the most total and top-100 draft picks in April’s upcoming draft.

The Cardinals have more than enough capital to build a real team around their 26-year-old former first-overall pick.
