Over the last week, the Diamondbacks have posted a record of 0-5-1, with their most recent win occurring last Friday against the Chicago Cubs.

In this afternoon’s game, Merrill Kelly started on the mound for Arizona and encountered trouble in the third inning after managing a smooth performance in the first couple of innings. With two outs, the Rockies launched a pair of hits that led to two runs, marking the game’s first score.

The Rockies further extended their lead to 5-1 in the sixth inning, capitalizing on Logan Allen with three additional runs. Again, the bulk of the Rockies’ scoring came with two outs.

Responding in the bottom of the sixth, the Diamondbacks rallied to tie the game at 5, thanks to two singles, two walks, and a Jace Peterson home run. However, their comeback was short-lived as the Rockies regained the lead in the seventh inning.

Allen, continuing on the mound, quickly secured two outs but then allowed a walk. This was swiftly followed by a Nolan Jones triple, bringing the score to 6-5 in favor of Colorado.

Next up for Arizona is a meeting with the Kansas City Royals tomorrow at 1:10 PM.
